The kit was fantastic, and he loved putting it together.  He LOVED going into a dark room to run a star show .  There are several things that should be improved: 1 - the foam stickers barely held on, and the planetarium pieces constantly threatened to come off the ring - I ended up using scotch tape to tape them all down while he moved on to building the other pieces.  2 - the kit is great, but he could not find information on which constellations were which anywhere, not even on the tinkerzine (I checked - nada)- and I tried to find a printable, but it hasn't been so easy (still haven't succeeded) - it would be great if a one-pager with labeled constellations (just the ones on the planetarium) were provided, so he could identify the constellations in his 'star show'.

This crate led to a lot more family time once we decided to start star gazing at night! We did more research on th concepts we learned and went outside to explore more.

The kit is very well thought-out. The construction is challenging without being beyond the target age-group, and the booklet is a great accompaniment full of useful, intriguing and interesting information in a very accessible format.

Another great activity from Tinker Crate! Astronomy is a subject that has so many topics, but being able to specify how the sky changes throughout the year through specific niche topics was excuted very well.

Not only did he get to work his engineering skills while building, but he also got to explore space and learn about the sky and solar system.

The content was great! Subject matter was above interest of child at this time, but he was excited to have it for his room at night.

I liked how it demonstrates the transfer of energy from chemical to electrical to mechanical. And ow it demonstrates potential energy stored in the battery becomes kinetic energy. It helps my daughter see how to move kinetic energy from one axel to another. Oh and it goes really fast!

Spin Art Machine

My 6 year-old and I built this together. It was so much fun to construct. My kid is delighted by the art they can make with this kit. I wish it came with a greater range of colors (or primary colors we could mix to make new colors) and more paper. We used all of the paper (~10 4.25 x 4.25 pieces) in 2 days . Where can we refill the art supplies? 

I was really impressed how this kit mixes art and science together. Both my children and I learnt about centrifugal forces and resistors. it was a fun family project and child (5+) needed some help to put the fiddly bits of this kit together but it was a joy to work together and see the final results.  

Make The Spinning Wood More Sturdy Because Mine Broke On The First Piece Of Art.

My 8 year old completed this on her own. This is her first ever kit and she can't wait to do more. You can look on Youtube for step by step directions by KiwiCo. Very helpful for kids that are visual learners. 

This was a HUGE hit in our house!! My 7 year old needed help with assembly (mainly with the breadboard and resistor part). She was SO proud that she helped to make this. Additional paint color choices would have made this even better (maybe red, so that some of the colors could blend to make new colors?).

7 year old son loves this project. Even though for ages 9+ he was able to build it with minimal adult assistance. It is very cool to make different spin art creations. The two things I would recommend KiwiCo to add to the crate are 4 additional empty paint droppers to add other colors and a paint syringe or other tool to easily refill the paint droppers.

My 9-year old son loved putting this together and then using it to make fun art. He was excited to learn how the motor worked. My 6-year old daughter helped him and was super into it as well.

My 11 year old daughter absolutely loved this crate. I would have given five star, if you can only add instructions how to make more paper cutouts and what color can be used. That will help kids more engage and try a lot this spin art machine 

Great fulfilled activity toy to build and play

My 6 and 7 year olds had fun assembling it and creating their spin art. Directions were easy to follow- no trouble with assembly.
