My 11 year old received this as a gift. She disappeared into her room and returned an hour later with the ukulele. She said the knot tying slowed her down but she enjoyed the build. She likes these Kiwi crates but I wish they were more challenging. This was probably the longest she’s spent time-wise on what she’s received over the past 4-5 months. 

Daughter throughly enjoyed this one!  She even took it to the next level and painted her favorite character, Stitch, on it.  We def recommend this project!  Kids look forward to these coming in the mail.  They share a eureka subscription so they trade off every other month.

These crates go to my grandkids and I rarely hear about them but this one was such a hit that I had to order another one for little sister.

The Ukulele was well designed and sturdy, and it even stayed in tune after the strings stretched properly. The instructions were good too. A good price for a well designed kit. Adam Savage's YouTube review guided us to the kiwoco ukulele.

I subscribe to three lines - two for my kids, and this one for me - and this is my favorite one that I've gotten so far.

This was a lot of fun for my son to put together and it has a surprisingly good sound for what it is. 

The Ukulele kit looks great and it arrived within the time quoted. My only issue was the state of the box 

Amazing crate, if you have any problems with the strings buzzing, (in my case it was the E string) I found that you can move a string out of the nut and into the slot of another string to fix it

Love this although it took 2 of us to put it together which was a great team effort and a fun project to do with my husband. It is hard to tune correctly unless we are doing something wrong but overall we enjoy it and so do our little ones as they like the sounds of strumming the strings. 

Count me among the adults who buys your KiwiCrates, "for his kids." We do build them together but this was the first kit I purchased exclusively for myself as a builder and ukulele player. The sound doesn't compare to a real uke, but it is the only ukulele I own THAT I BUILT WITH MY OWN BARE HANDS. It is impressive that laser cut plywood holds the strain of those strings without any glue. Impressive engineering. I've wanted to build my own out of solid wood and this kit gave me the ideas and confidence to try!

I need to reinvestigate the manual to make sure I didn't miss it in the lovely extended learning sections, because one of the things I was hoping to learn was the math behind the spacing of the frets.

The grandkids love this kit. It is something they can build and use!  

This one is great especially if your kids have a tablet. The only thing is the ear pads don’t have a good wear life since they just slip on so maybe some double sided tape to keep them on with constantly taking headphones on and off over time.

Wonderful activity. 12 yr old kiddo LOVED it. We were able to really talk about it and she taught me all about the mechanics and electrical! Great!

Our grandson absolutely loved building his headphones. And it's been a year and he still uses them daily! So it lasts, is well designed, and provides hours of fun plus his feeling of accomplishment: he tells his friends he made them! So proud!


This is easily the favorite kit my 12 year old has done! (Close second is the kinetic speaker) The build was challenging and the quality of the headphones is great. He uses them daily for homeschool lessons and they've held up really well.

My daughter LOVES being able to bring these headphones to school and say she made them. She always surprises her teachers when they actually work!

My daughter followed all the instructions perfectly. She loved the snarked about sacrificing a headphone set for her to create her own!

I was thinking of ending my subscription when my son turned 18, but this kit changed both of our minds! Now I’m ordering another kit for myself! Standard headphones are usually too tight. This is very comfortable, it’s cool looking, and the sound is impressive! 
We may never end our subscription!

My 8yo loved this project. She has used them every day since she made them. My husband helped with the instructions but I think she would have figured it out alone too.
